TunzaLiberia Strategy is a
respond to the outcome of the 4th African Youth Conference on environment and Sustainable Developement "TunzaAfrica". Tunzafrica is also the result of the UNEP global Tunza engagement or Tunza Strategy which creates
TUNZAFRIKA. The UNEP started its work with young people in 1985, which was
designated International Youth Year. Since then, it has developed several
global and regional initiatives, activities and networks. UNEP has held regular
conferences for young people and promoted environmental awareness through
competitions, recognition and partnerships with international, regional and
national organizations working with young people. The UNEP Tunza Strategy is a responds to
Governing Council decision 21/22, which requested the development of a long
term strategy on the engagement and involvement of young people in UNEP which
primarily targets young people of age 24 years and below or sometime up to 30
years.

The main national enforcement of the UNEP Tunza mandate
or the UNEP TunzaLiberia work with young people in Liberia came into effect
after the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) endorsed the Tunza Strategy at
the 1st Liberian Youth Conference on Environment and Sustainable held
at the Jordan Ryan Conference room UNDP Energy Environment Unit; UNDP Compound,
