NRRI Liberia TunzaLiberia Report


The NRRI Liberia January 21, 2014 TunzaLiberia Conference report presents outline, and result three months UNEP Tunza awareness and youth mobilization task for Liberia. It  illustrates the implementation of the TunzaLiberia Conference under the title 1st Liberian Youth Conference on Environment and Sustainable Development, “TunzaLiberia 2013.” The NRRI Tunza Repot also detail how the Tunza awareness and Youth mobilization activities received warm welcome by Liberian youth, the Government and the public due to the rigorous engagement from NRRI and it various youth partners organizations across Liberia.

Brief summary of the recommendations in the report called on the government of Liberia, the UNEP, local UN agencies, Civil Society and the Liberian public to support theTunza progrma in Liberia and ensure that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) integrate the UNEP TunzaLiberia into its programs as national priority for youth and the environment. 

Appreciation was extended to UNEP and the Youth of Africa (TUNZAFRIKA) for given NRR Liberia the mandate to conduct its Tunza awareness and Youth mobilization in Liberia. Other deepest gratitude was expressed to David Njoroge, from UNEP Office for Africa, Nairobi Kenya; who worked tirelessly to provide NRRI team  in providing actual consultancy, input and  also leading Communications between the UNEP and NRRI Liberia. ¨

The greatest thanks and appreciation was sent to Government of Liberia, United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (UN-FAO) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Liberia for their financial support which made the UNEP Tunza program becomes successful in Liberia.
